City Hall 1/30/2009
Animal rights activists wanted to end horse-drawn carriage rides in New York City. The carriage drivers, who recently joined with the teamsters, wanted to get the City Council to raise their fares. Both sides met at City Hall and hijinks ensued.
Rachel Sings @ City Hall
Rachel Trachtenburg went in front of a crowd of teamsters and carriage drivers who were convinced she wanted to end their livelihoods and sang her song about horses. By the time she finished singing, the whole place broke out in applause, which is not normally allowed during sessions of the City Council.
BTW the teamster shouting in the beginning is nice in real life, I spoke with him a couple of times. It's important to remember we're all real people, we're not just the issues we believe in.
